Your questions,
answered.
Can I instruct KALER from the United States?
Yes. You can contact us from the United States about a German-law matter. After a conflict check, we discuss the work required, the responsible lawyers and fees. Calls, document review and updates can be handled remotely.
What law does KALER advise on?
Our advice focuses on German law and relevant EU law. A New York office location does not itself imply admission to practice U.S. law. Any work involving another jurisdiction is scoped separately.
Do you have an office location in New York?
Yes. Our New York office location is at 136 Madison Avenue, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10016. Please arrange an appointment before visiting. German-law matters are handled by KALER's German legal practice.
Can you help with a German debtor?
We can assess business claims against debtors in Germany, review the appropriate legal route and discuss recovery risks. The approach depends on the contract, evidence, jurisdiction and available assets.
How are fees agreed?
We explain the proposed scope and fee basis before an engagement begins. Depending on the matter, this may involve an agreed fee, time-based billing or statutory fees. Court costs and other third-party costs are considered separately.
